WideOrbit Buys Google's Radio Automation Business
San Francisco-based WideOrbit has acquired the assets of Google's radio automation business, the firm said today. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. WideOrbit provides software used by media companies to manage their broadcast and cable operations, including billing and sales proposal software. The buy includes Google Radio Automation, Maestro, and its SS32 automation products, which were all part of Google's ill-fated foray into the radio advertising market. Google shut down those efforts in February.
