Complete Genomics Raises $45M

Mountain View-based Complete Genomics said today that it has raised $45M in a Series D financing round. The round was led by Essex Woodlands Health Ventures and OrbiMed Advisors, with existing investors Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, OVP Venture Partners, Prospect Venture Partners, and Highland Capital Management all participating. complete Genomics is developing what it describes as "third generation" DNA sequencing technology combined with high performance computing (HPC) capabilities, aimed at academic and biopharmaceutical researchers. The firm said C. Thomas Caskey, M.D., FACP and Carl L. Gordon, Ph.D. have been added to its board as part of the funding. More information »
