Admob Buys Adwhirl

San Mateo-based Admob said Thursday that it has acquired competitor Adwhirl. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. AdWhirl was backed by $1M in seed funding from Foundation Capital and individuals; Admob is backed by Sequoia Capital, Accel, DFJ Growth Fund, and Northgate. Admob said it will continue to maintain AdWhirl's current funcationality, and will also be adding iPhone support as part of the buy.
