Adobe Buys Omniture For $1.8 Billion
San Jose-based Adobe Systems announced Tuesday afternoon that it is acquiring web analytics provider Omniture, in a deal worth $1.8 billion. According to Adobe, it will pay $21.50 per share in cash for Omniture, which is based in Orem, Utah. Omniture will become a new business unit of the firm, with Omniture CEO Josh James becoming SVP of the new unit. Adobe said the acquisition will broaden its solutions, and give it access to the growing Internet, advertising, e-commerce, and digital media market
