Google Targets E-commerce Search

Mountain View-based Google is setting its sights on e-commerce sites, saying today that it has rolled out a new, enterprise search product specifically aimed at online retailers. The firm said its new Google Commerce Search provides "ultra-fast" search of online retail stores, helping customers to find products. The cloud-based application includes such features as sorting, spell checking, stemming, synonym suggestions, and more to help customers find items on online stores. Google said Birkenstock USA is one of the first implementers of the new search technology. Google did not release pricing on the new product.
