Fwix Rolls Local News Widget

San Francisco-based Fwix, an online news site focused on local news, said today that it has rolled out a new program which allows publishers to tie local content and advertising through a local news widget. The firm said it will share revenues between the firm, publishers, and content creators from the widget. The new Adwire product allows publishers to embed the local news widget into Typepad, Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, or other web sites, specifying either local news or specific categories; that content will include target, local ads alongside the story. Fwix is backed by Bluerun Ventures.
