5AM Ventures Closes $200M Life Sciences Fund
Menlo Park-based 5AM Venture Management said Monday that it has raised $200M in 5AM Ventures III, L.P., the firm's venture capital fund focused on early-stage life sciences companies. The firm said the funding came from both current and new institutional investors, including endowments, family offices, foundations, funds-of-funds and pension funds. Specific LPs in the new fund were not disclosed. The fund said it will continue to focus on early-stage life science, and specifically companies focused on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics, along with companies developing diagnostics, materials, medical devices and reagents.
