Google Jumps Into Broadband Market
Google announced today that the firm is jumping into the high speed broadband market, saying that it is planning to build and test, ultra high-speed broadband networks across the United States. According to Google, the move will connect at least 50,000 and as many as 500,000 people to the Internet. The firm said it hopes the effort will make "Internet access better and faster for everyone." Google did not say where it plans to deploy its broadband network, but said it is looking for requests for information (RFIs) from local communities and governments interested in service from Google.
