TiVo Wins Ruling In Lawsuit Against Dish, EchoStar

Alviso-based digital video recorder firm Tivo has scored a win in the U.S. Court of Appeals, in its lawsuit against EchoStar. According to TiVo, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit fully affirmed the district court's finding of contempt against EchoStar, clearing the way for the firm to received around $300M in damages and sanctions. DISH Network and EchoStar said that the firms were "disappointed" in the decision, and said it will be seeking an en banc review by the full Federal Circuit. The firms also said they are proposing a new design around to the district court for approval.
