Aurora Biofuels Gets $15M More
Alameda-based Aurora Biofuels, which is developing biofuels processes based on algae, said today that it has raised an additional $15M in a financing round. The round was led by Oak Investment Partners, and also included prior investors Gabriel Venture Partners and Noventi Ventures. Aurora said the new funding will go towards commercializing its algae biofuel technology. The funding brings the company's total raised to more than $40M. As part of the funding, Aurora said it has appointed Scott McDonald as Chief Financial Officer; McDonald has previously served at Castelle, Conxion Corporation, CIDCO, and Integrated Systems, among other firms.
