Google Makes Move On China, Stops Censoring Searches

Mountain View-based Google said Monday that it has stopped censoring services on Google.cn, the Chinese version of its web site, and is now redirecting users to Google.com.hk, the non-censored version of Google's Chinese search site based in Hong Kong. The move follows several months of high profile negotiation with China over cyber attacks originating from the country, which were revealed in January. Google says it has concluded that it can "no longer continue censoring" its results on Google.cn. Google--addressing questions on whether the firm will be able to continue to operate in China--said it intends to continue R&D work in China, and to maintain a sales presence there.
