NorthScale Raises $10M
Mountain View-based NorthScale, a developer of data infrastructure management software, said today that it has raised $10M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Mayfield, and also included Accel Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners, prior investors in the firm. NorthScale is commercializing data infrastructure software based on the open source memcached project. Robin Vasan of Mayfield joins the company's board as part of the funding, and the firm also said it has hired Bob Wiederhold as its CEO. Wiederhold was most recently chairman, CEO, and President of Transitive Corporation, which was acquired by IBM in 2008; he has also served at Cadence Design Systems and Tality. More information »
