Breathe Technologies Inhales In $23M More
San Ramon-based Breathe Technologies, a developer of medical devices for trating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and sleep apnea, said Tuesday that it has raised $23M in a Series C funding round. The round was led by DAG Ventures, and also included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Delphi Ventures, Synergy Partners, and Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation. Breathe has developed a wearable ventilation system used to help treat respiratory issues. As part of the funding, the company said that John L. Miclot,, formerly CEO and president of Respironics, has joined the company's board as chairman. The new funding comes in conjunction with the receipt of FDA 510(k) clearance for its product.
