Zynga Acquires Chinese Social Gaming Firm
San Francisco-based Zynga said Thursday morning that it has acquired social gaming firm XPD Media, which is based in Beijing. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. XPD Media was backed by True Ventures and Pilot Group, and was developing social gaming titles for the Asian and international market. Zynga said the move will bolster its talent in game development, and open up an office for the firm in Beiing. XPD Media CEO Robin Chan become's Zynga's GM of Asian business operations.
