Phoenix Technologies Sells eSupport

Milpitas-based Phoenix Technologies announced today that it has sold off its eSupport business assets, to a new firm called eSupport.com, in a deal worth $1.0M in cash plus $0.6M in licensing fees to be paid annually over the next three years. The firm--which has been shedding various business units over the past few months--said the sale is its third and "final" non-core asset divestiture. The firm said it has received a total of $20.3M in consideration for the sales of its FailSafe, HyperSpace, and eSupport units. The firm has been looking to refocus on its core BIOS business.
