Google Shapes Apps For Government
Mountain View-based Google said Monday that it has rolled out a new edition of its Google Apps software, specifically for governments. According to Google, the Google Apps for Government includes the same apps that are present in its standard version, with specific policy and security features for the public sector. Google said it has also scored Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) certification and accreditation for the software. The news from Google comes on the heels of news this morning that the firm missed a June deadline for full implementation of Google in the City of Los Angeles, due to security issues.
