Kaboodle Jumps Into Private Sales
Sunnyvale-based social shopping site Kaboodle said earlier this week that it has launched into the private/flash sales market, with its own, members-online online sales site. The firm said the new site, PopPicks, will offer specially priced items for a limited time. Kaboodle said the sales will revolve around a collection of products selected by its editors and voted on by its users. The site is launching the effort with online fashion retailer Moxsie, and also said furture promotions will come from Karmaloop, Ssense, Ivy Blue and 80sPurple. Kaboodle is owned by Hearst Corporation. The new site competes against such sites as Gilt, HauteLook, Envite, and a slew of others.
