Intel Buys TI's Cable Modem Line

Santa Clara-based Intel announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquired Texas Instruments' cable modem product line. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Intel said it would combine TI's Puma product lines with Intel's own products, for delivering set top box, residential gateway, and modem products. TI's cable modem team was primarily based in Israel, and will become part of Intel's Digital Home Group.
