Ion Torrent Acquired By Life Technologies

Ion Torrent, a developer of DNA sequencing technology, has been acquired by DNA giant Life Technologies, in a deal worth $375M in cash and stock plus up to $350M in earnout. Ion Torrent, which has offices in South San Francisco and headquarters in Guilford, Connecticut, develops semiconductor-based DNA sequencing products, targeted at benchtop, mid scale sequencing projects.
