Alibris Becomes Monsoon Commerce Solutions

Emeryville-based Alibris Holdings, a developer of software and websites for helping online e-commerce retailers sell books, movies, videogames, and music items via online marketplaces, said today that it has renamed itself Monsoon Commerce Solutions. The firm said the move comes along with a new organizational structure. Monsoon says its provides white-label marketplaces to retailers like Borders, Chapters INdigo, Chegg, and Waterstone. The firm also offers up sofware to help companies sell through Amazon.com, Buy.com, and eBay. The firm also continues to run its original book sales site, Alibris.com
