Microsoft Sues Motorola Over Android Phone

Microsoft said Friday afternoon that it has filed a patent infringement suit against Motorola, over its implementation of features on its Android based smartphones. According to Microsoft, it says that Motorola has infringed on nine patents owned by the firm, which cover synchronizing email, calendars and contacts, scheduling meetings, and notifying applications of changes in signal strength and battery power. Google is not named in the lawsuit. Microsoft had, in April, announced a deal with HTC over licensing of similar features in HTC's Android related mob ile phones.
