SocialShield Scores $10M

San Bruno-based SocialShield, a developer of an online, software-as-a-service offering which monitors kids use of social networks like Facebook and MySpace, said it has raised $10M in a Series A funding. The round was led by Venrock, U.S. Venture Partners, and a number Silicon Valley angels. The firm said the funding will go toward marketing and development. SocialShield was founded by Noah Kindler and Arad Rostampour. Angels in the firm include Russell Fradin, Larry Braitman, George Garrick, Craig Sherman and Rick Thompson. More information »
