eCert Gets $8M

San Francisco-based eCert, a provider of email trust services for email authentication, has raised $8M in a funding, the firm said today. The funding came from private equity firm Warburg Pincus. According to eCert, it will use the funding to support its growth. eCert offers up email domain certification, which helps certify financial institutions and others with Google, Yahoo, and other email providers, reducing the amount of phishing and spam in their systems. eCert is headed by Kelly Wanser.
