Coraid Pulls In $25M

Redwood City-based Coraid, a developer of Ethernet-based storage products, announced this morning that it has raised $25M in a Series B funding round. The round was led by Menlo Ventures, and also included prior investors Allegis Capital and Azure Capital Partners. Menlo's John W. jarve joins the company's board as part of the funding. Coraid's products use its own SATA-based protocol for sending storage commands over Ethernet, which the firm says gives it a 5 to 8 times price-performance advantage over iSCSI and Fibre Channel storage solutions.
