eBay Buys German Shopping Site Brands4Friends

San Jose-based eBay said this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire brands4friends, a German online fashion shopping site. eBay said it would pay approximately $200M in cash from brands4friends. eBay said the move will strengthen its position as an online fashion destination in Europe. brands4friends offers up "flash" sales of fashion and lifestyle brands via daily deals. eBay said brands4friends employes 200 people in Berlin, and has approximately 3.5 million members in Germany.
