RootMusic Gets $2.3M

Menlo Park-based RootMusic, the developer of software for Facebook which allows musicians to represent themselves on the social networking site, said today that it has raised $2.3M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Mohr Davidow, and also included angel investor Larry Marcus. RootMusic said it has more than 12.7 million monthly active users on its application, and that it counts artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and the Grateful Dead as users of its software.
