LawPivot Gets Funding From Google

LawPivot, an online provider of crowd-sourced legal advice, said today that it has received an investment from Google Ventures, as well as Silicon Valley and New York angel investors Richard Chen, David Tisch, David Li, Nick Mehta, Don Hutchison, David Austin, Allen Morgan, Deep Nishar, Chris Yeh and Nishith Desai. The firm said it raised a total of $600,000. LawPivot allows companies--particularly startups--to ask legal questions, which are answered confidentially by qualified lawsyers. The firm is headed by Jay Mandal, who has previously been a corporate lawyer with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and Nishith Desai Associates.
