Qwiki Gets $8M

Palo Alto-based Qwiki, an invite-only, service working on using video, text, images, and more to create an "information experience" for topics, said this week that it has raised $8M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Eduardo Saverin (co-founder, Facebook), Jawed Karim (co-founder, YouTube) and Pradeep Sindhu (co-founder, Juniper Networks), Lerer Media Ventures, Tugboat Ventures and Contour Venture Partners. Saverin and Pejman Nozad join the firm's board as observers. The new funding brings its total raised to $9.5M. More information »
