ScaleXtreme Gets $11M

Palo Alto-based ScaleXtreme, a developer of systems management software for managing cloud deployment on Amazon EC2, VMware virtual machines, and other servers, has raised $11M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Ignition Partners, and also included prior investor Accel Partners. The firm said the funding will go to accelerate rollout of new product capabilities, and for marketing and sales. Ignition's Frank Artale joins the company's board as part of the funding.
