Twitter Buys BackType

BackType, a developer of Twitter analytics tools, has been acquired by Twitter, BackType said today. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Backtype, which was backed in San Francisco, had been backed by such firms as 500 Startups, Founder Collective, Freestyle Capital, K9 Ventures, Lowercase Capital, True Ventures, and Raymond Tonsing.
