Getaround Gains $3.4M
San Francisco-based Getaround, a car sharing service which competes with Zipcar, said Monday that it has raised $3.4M in a seed funding round. The funding came from CrunchFund, the venture capital firm recently started by TechCrunch's Michael Arrington, Marc Randolph of Netflix, Vivi Nevo, Redpoint Ventures, as well as angels Barney Pell (Powerset), Matt Mullenweg (Wordpress), Simon Rothman (eBay Motors), and Farhat Mohit (Shopzilla).
