Twitvid Captures $6.5M

San Francisco-based Twitvid, which allows users to share videos on Twitter, said today that it has raised $6.5M in a new funding round. The Series B funding was led by Azure Capital Partners, and also included prior investor Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Twitvid has been offering up its Twitter-based, video sharing site since May of 2009. The firm said the new funds will go to expand its team, plus build out its product and technology infrastructure. Cameron Lester of Azure Capital Partners joins the company's board.
