Polaris Ventures Sets Up Shop In Palo Alto

Polaris Venture Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm, said Thursday that it is opening up a permanent office in Palo Alto, with both Partner Brian Chee and Principal Ryan Spoon heading up the new location. The firm cited Palo Also as the "gravity center" of Silicon Valley, saying it was important to be "blocks away" from the next generation of entrepreneurs. Polaris also said it plans to move its Dogpatch Labs early stage effort from Pier 38 in San Francisco to its new Palo Alto location near University Avenue.
