CrowdOptic Gets $500K
San Francisco-based CrowdOptic, a developer of a mobile software technology which helps track the behavior of crowds at events, said today that it has raised $500,000 in a new round of funding. CrowdOptic develops a platform which uses smart phones of fans, to figure out where crowds are paying attention to during live events. The firm said its technology is bein gused to enhance crowd surveillance and intelligence during live events.As part of the funding round, the firm said it has signed a deal with security provider Andrews International to use its technology to detect and respond to possible emergencies in real time during the events it oversees.
