Mobeam Adds $1.5M

San Francisco-based Mobeam, a developer of technology which overcomes issues of scanning mobile barcodes on point-of-sale laser scanners, announced this morning that it has added $1.5M in its Series A funding round. The funding came from DFJ Athena, the Korean-focused ventuer fund affiliated with Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The funding adds to the $4.9M already raised in its Series A in October. Perry Ha of DFJ Athena joins the company's board as part of the funding. Mobeam's technology transmits information to laser scanners using LEDs on most mobile handsets, overcoming the limitations of trying to read barcodes from mobile screens. More information »
