Amyris Fuels Up With $83.7M
Emeryville-based Amyris, the publicly traded renewable chemicals and fuels firm, said this morning that it has completed a $58.7M private placement of its common stock, plus an agreement to place another $25M in senior unsecured notes, as part of an effort to raise up to $98.7M. The new funding came from existing investors Temasek Holdings, Total Gas & Power USA, SAS, Naxyris SA, as well as new investor Biolding Investment SA (a company owned by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani of Qatar), John Doerr, and Fernando Reinach.
