BroadLight Acquired By Broadcom

BroadLight, a developer of optical networking components which has its U.S. headquarters in Santa Clara, has been acquired by Broadcom for $195M in cash. BroadLight develops fiber access PON (Passive Optical Network) processors, and has its headquarters in Israel. Broadlight's networking and embedded processors are used in optical networking, as part of broadband access, IPTV, HDTV broadcasting, and high speed Internet access applications.
