Invuity Lights Up With $25M
San Francisco-based Invuity, which develops surgical illumination and visualization technology, announced this morning that it has raised $25M in a Series D funding round. The funding was led by Valence Advantage Life Sciences Fund II, and also included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and InterWest Partners. Eric Roberts of Valence Advantage has joined the company's board. The firm said the funds go to expand development, manufacturing and commercialization of its medical devices. Invuity is led by Philip Sawyer. The firm's product is called Eigr, and is used for minimally invasive surgery. More information »
