FundersClub Finds Funding
A new, online service to help investors take a stake in startups, FundersClub, has just gotten funding itself, according to backer First Round Capital. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. FundersClub allows companies to raise capital from accredited individuals, who can invest as little as $1,000. FundersClub is looking to streamline the process by aggregating shareholders via the FundersClub fund, making it easier for companies to manage the fundraising process, which generally involves a lot of signature and legal overhead when dealing with a multitude of angel investors. So far, FundersClub includes a number of Y Combinator companies--Virool, Sponsorfied, TracksBy, and Coinbase--as possible investments for users. More information »
