Google Ventures Ups Funding To $300M Annually
Google is boosting the amount of funding for its venture capital arm to $300M a year, according to the firm, which says its plans to invest $1.5 billion into startups over the next five years. Google--which has been dedicating $200M to investments annually--said the additional capital will also help it invest in more, later-stage financing rounds. In an interview with Reuters, Bill Maris, managing partner of Google Ventures, said the additional capital will put a "lot more wood behind the arrow".
