Alphabet Energy Raises $16M
San Francisco-bsaed Alphabet Energy, a developer of technology to generate electricity from waste heat, has raised $16M in a Series B funding round. The new funding was led by Canadian natural gas producer Enaca, and also included Claremont Creek Ventures, TPG Biotech and the CalCEF Clean Energy Angel Fund. Alphabet Energy is developing technology which takes waste heat and converts it into electricity. The firm's technology is based on research from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and is based on silicon thermoelectric technology. The firm has now raised around $28M for its technology.
