Nest Labs Buys MyEnergy
Palo Alto-based Nest, the developer of smart, user-friendly thermostats, said Tuesday that it has acquired MyEnergy, a developer of a service to help users track their electric, gas, and water use. Financial details of the buy were not disclose. According to Nest, it will use the acquisition to help improve its ability to let users dig into historical energy data, and help users reduce their home energy usage. Nest is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Generation Partners, Shasta Ventures, Intertrust, and Venrock.
