Watsi Finds $1.2M For Crowdsourced Philanthropy

San Francisco-based Watsi, a philanthropic crowdsourcing startup which lets people support the healthcare of the less fortunate across the world, has raised $1.2M in funding, the company said Thursday. The company said the funding came from Paul Graham (Y Combinator), Tencent, Y Combinator, Ron Conway, Vinod Khosla, Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Joe Greenstein, Eric Wu, Geoff Ralston, Uprising, Jasime Social Investments, Innospring/TEEC Angel Fund, and Michael Sidgmore. Watsi lets people browse the profile of people around the world and contribute as little as $5 towards their healthcare needs.
