OpenTable Buys Ness Computing
San Francisco-based OpenTable said late Thursday that it has acquired Ness Computing, a provider of personalized restaurant recommendation apps, in a deal worth $17.2M in cash. According to OpenTable, the enterprise value is $11.3M net of the estimated cash at Ness. OpenTable said that it would hire eleven Ness team members to its San Francisco offices, and that it will discontinue the Ness app and site. Ness had been backed by Alsop Louie Partners, Bullpen Capital, Khosla Ventures, TomorrowVentures, and Joe Lonsdale.
