Wickr Gets $30M More For Encrypted Messaging
San Francisco-based Wickr, a developer of encrypted messaging apps, said this week that it has raised $30M in a Series B funding. The company--led by Defcon founder Nico Sell--said the funding came from Jim Breyer (Breyer Capital), CME Group, Wargaming, Alsop Louie Partners, Juniper Networks, the Knight Foundation and Riverwood. Sell is a security expert who organizes the Defcon security conference. The company says it is offering up "military grade" encryption of its text, photo, and video messaging.
