Whill Gets $11M For 4WD Wheelchair

San Carlos-based Whill, a maker of four-wheel drive, omnidirectional vehicles for the health and mobility market, has raised $11M in a Series A, the company disclosed Tuesday. The funding came from Innovation Network, 500 Startups, Jochu Technology, NTT DoCoMo, Scott McNealy, and others. The company's four wheel drive wheelchair can ride up curbs up to 3 inches high, maneuver off road, and even connects to smartphone apps.
