BluWrap Bags $12.6M

San Francisco-based BluWrap, which is developing a based system which allows companies to ship fish and other protein by boat instead of by air, said yesterday that it has raised $12.6M in a funding round. The funding round was led by Wheatsheaf Inestments Ltd., and also included Anterra Capital, Firelake Capital and Rabo Ventures. BlueWrap says it has created technology which creates an all-natural, controlled atmosphere environment so fish and other perishable proteins arrive without spoiling, and can be shipped via boat instead of by very expensive air freight.
