Revel Systems Gets $100M
San Francisco-based Revel Systems, which develops iPad-based point-of-sale (POS) software, has raised $100M in a Series C funding. The company said the funding came from Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) and other strategic investors, and was split between $65M plus a $25M equity line. Sanjay Swani of WCAS joins the company's board with the funding. Revel said it will use the funding to meet sales demand for its iPad POD platform. The company supplies its systems and software to Dairy Queen, Goodwill, Pizza Patron, and Smoothie King.
