Veniam Gets $4.9M For Wi-Fi Connected Vehicles
Mountain View-based Veniam said this morning that it has raised $4.9M in a Series A funding, to help tap a network of city Wi-Fi networks to enable connected vehicles. Veniam said the Series A funding was led by True Ventures and also included Union Square Ventures. Veniam's technology uses available city Wi-Fi networks to connect automobile, infrastructure, and other connected devices together. The company said that data is being applied to environmental concerns, help respond to real-time public transportation needs, adjust waste collection routes dynamically, and more.
