Uber Raises $1.2 Billion In New Funding Round
San Francisco-based on-demand ride service Uber said Thursday that it has raised $1.2 billion in a new funding round--which the company said will allow it to make strategic investments, particularly in the Asia Pacific Region. The round reportedly values Uber at $40 billion. Names of the investors in the new round were not announced. Uber, which is led by Travis Kalanick, said the company also has the option for additional strategic investment in the company.
